South Barrington, Northbrook youth golfers finalists for national competition

Drive, Chip & Putt, a nationwide youth golf development initiative for boys and girls ages 7-15 designed to inspire a new generation to choose golf as a lifetime pursuit, has named two local players as finalists in its competition to earn the opportunity to compete in the national finals at Augusta National, home of the Masters Tournament.

The top 80 performers each year earn this opportunity.

Reese Wallace of South Barrington and Logan Keeter of Northbrook have each earned a spot in the competition.

Wallace started playing golf at the age of two. She dreams of being in the LPGA and helping kids learn to love the game.

Keeter just recently started playing golf. While he participates in many sports, he dreams of being a PGA tour golfer.

Due to the pandemic, the 2020 national finals were postponed. The 2021 Drive, Chip & Putt national finals will take place on April 4, the eve of the Masters Tournament, and will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel.
