Bulls' LaVine will return to 3-point contest

Bulls guard Zach LaVine will be back in the 3-point contest during All-Star Weekend.

The participants for the contests were announced Tuesday. Joining LaVine will be five other players participating in the All-Star Game - Golden State's Steph Curry, Phoenix' Devin Booker, Utah's Donovan Mitchell, along with Boston's Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.

LaVine made his first appearance in the 3-point contest last year when the game was held in Chicago. He did not advance to the second round, but had the highest score of the players who did not advance. Sacramento's Buddy Hield eventually won the event.

LaVine won the dunk contest twice early in his career, but has resisted calls to return to that event. This year's dunk contest will feature just three participants - Portland's Anferenee Simons, Indiana's Cassius Stanley and New York's Obi Toppin.

The skills challenge will include Dallas' Luka Doncic. Phoenix' Chris Paul, New York's Julius Randle, Indiana's Domantas Sabonis. Orlando's Nikola Vucevic and Portland's Robert Covington, a Bellwood native.

The rescheduled All-Star Game will be held March 7 in Atlanta. The 3-point and skills challenges will take place before the game, with the dunk contest at halftime.
