Marmion's Glasgow drafted in sixth round by Colts
Being an NFL draft pick is nothing new for the Glasgow family, but it never gets old.
“I've been getting texts from everyone right now. It's a lot to keep in check,” said Jordan Glasgow, the Marmion product and Michigan linebacker selected Saturday by the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round with the 213th overall pick.
When Colts linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi called him with the good news, Glasgow's older brothers Graham and Ryan — offensive linemen with the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals, respectively — were with him in the family's condominium in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The Detroit Lions picked Graham in the third round in 2016 and the Bengals selected Ryan in the fourth round in 2017.
And now here comes Jordan.
“I'm excited. I'm happy I went (in the draft),” he said. “That's all there is to say at this point, really.”
The words that mattered came in the days surrounding the Jan. 18 East-West Shrine Bowl in Tampa, where the 6-foot-1, 226-pound linebacker played well and perhaps interviewed with NFL scouts even better. Glasgow didn't attend the NFL Scouting Combine or any pro days, but the 20-plus team representatives he met with liked what they heard.
“I feel like interviews and my film was how I was able to make an impact on people,” said Glasgow, a 2015 Marmion graduate.
As a Michigan senior last fall he made 89 tackles, 7 for loss with 5 sacks, and is a strong special-teams player.
“I'm excited that I was able to get picked, I'm excited to get to work,” Glasgow said. “I'm going to do all I can to prove that the Colts made a good choice.”
