Famed English broadcaster White to provide TV play-by-play for Chicago Fire

One of the best-known voices in professional soccer is coming to Chicago this summer.

The Chicago Fire on Tuesday announced English broadcaster Arlo White will be the club's television play-by-play voice during the English Premier League off-season. White is a Chicago sports fan, filling his Twitter feed with his love of the Cubs and Bears. He formerly did play-by-play in MLS for the Seattle Sounders.

Former U.S. national team goalkeeper Tony Meola will be the club's TV color commentator. Tyler Terens will be the play-by-play voice in White's absence.

White also is scheduled to call matches during the Tokyo Olympics this summer.

The Fire is moving to WGN for 24 local TV broadcasts this season.
