Cross country: Hersey's Methner wins Foot Locker Midwest Regional
Hersey senior Josh Mether, the two-time IHSA Class 3A state boys cross country champion, added more hardware to his collection Saturday when he won the 41st Annual Foot Locker Midwest Regional title.
Methner covered the 5,000-meter course at Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha in a time of 15:46.7. Michael Hancock of Dearborn, Mich., was second in 15:51.3.
Bob Liking of St. Charles East took fourth place in a time of 15:53.2.
In the girls race, Glenbard West senior Katelynne Hart, the four-time IHSA Class 3A champion, finished fourth in a time of 17:34.6.
Their performances qualify Methner, Liking and Hart for the Foot Locker National Championships, to be held Dec. 14 in San Diego, Calif.
