Girls golf: Huntley claims FVC championship

Huntley came out on top in the Fox Valley Conference Tournament with a team score of 337 Tuesday at Crystal Woods.

Leading the individual scores was Renata Petersen from the Crystal Lake co-op with a 75 and Katie Matustik from Huntley with a 76.

Other leaders for Huntley included Lorelei Oomens with an 83, Molly Baker with an 85 and Taylor Stephenson and Allison Boroski with 93s.

Burlington Central was second with a 352. The Rockets were led by Kelsey O'Connor and Maya Gusciora who each scored an 86. Emily Koh had an 89.

Crystal Lake Co-cop fired a 355 for third with Molly Lyne following Petersen's 75 with an 80.

Jacobs claimed fourth place with 358 strokes, led by Roslyn Leitner with a 77 and Lauren Kempf with a 78.

Leading Hampshire was Gianna Farinella with a 90 as the Whip-Purs finished the conference tournament with a 414.

Dundee-Crown finished with a score of 503, led by Emma Suwanski with a 122.
