Boys soccer: Ivanovas, Jurinek net hat tricks in Antioch's win

Remi Ivanovas and Brock Jurinek each had 3 goals and 2 assists, and Antioch defeated host Grant 7-2 in Northern Lake County Conference boys soccer action Thursday night.

Adrian Aguayo also scored for Antioch (8-4, 2-1). Adam Lynn also had 2 assists and Vic Manke assisted on a goal as well.

Val Cerna scored both goals for Grant.

The Sequoits rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to lead 3-2 at halftime.

"After being down 1-0 and then 2-1, we fought back each time using good communication, a ferocious intensity to never give up on the ball, and great play up front from Remi Ivanovas and Brock Jurinek," Sequoits coach Mike McDermott said. "Adam Lynn controlled the middle of the field all game long on both ends and was a great leader today. I am so proud of our guys playing from behind and just continuing to pressure the ball and maintain possession. Great win to lead us into next week."

Round Lake 4, Grayslake North 1: Maqiis Haywood scored twice and added an assist, as the visiting Panthers won in Northern Lake County Conference action.

Chuy Ramos had a goal and an assist for Round Lake, which also got a Bruce Ruiz goal assisted by Edgar Arteaga.

Round Lake keeper Jerry Perez made 6 saves.

Wauconda 2, Lakes 1: The Northern Lake County Conference game was scoreless at halftime.

Lakes (3-4, 2-1) got its lone goal from Cyrus Daruwala, assisted by Dan Djendadic.

"We had our chances, and I can't complain as to how our team played on both sides of the ball," Lakes coach Kevin Kullby said. "We played some very good soccer but to Wauconda's credit their defense in the box was better."

Libertyville 3, Waukegan 1: Landon Johnson had a goal and an assist for the visiting Wildcats in the North Suburban Conference match.

Danny Chernyavsky and Mickey Reilly also scored for Libertyville. Will Herbek contributed an assist, and Wildcats keeper Hunter Lynch made 7 saves.

Warren 0, Lake Forest 0: Nic Diana made 3 saves in net for Warren (8-1-1, 1-1-1) in the North Suburban Conference match.

"Had a couple really nice opportunities midway through the first half and early in the second half but could not capitalize," Warren coach Jason Ahonen said. "Hats off to the Lake Forest keeper as he played extremely well tonight."

Stevenson 3, Lake Zurich 2: Christian Yen scored twice, Alem Duratovic had a goal and an assist, and the visiting Patriots captured the North Suburban Conference match.

Stevenson (3-5-1, 1-1) also got assists from Evan Paldrmic and Anthony Skordilis.
