Boys soccer: St. Charles East blanks Burlington Central

Jack Settle earned his seventh shutout in goal for St. Charles East (8-1) in a 7-0 win over Burlington Central, and the offense dominated the other half of the field. Renato Avendano knocked in 3 goals for St. Charles East, 2 of them on penalty kicks and an assist from Jake Maslowski on the other goal. Maslowski finished with 2 goals and 3 assists.

Kaneland 7, Sandwich 0: The Knights (5-3, 3-0) exploded on offense, scoring 3 goals in the first half and 4 more in the second half. Tucker Jahns led the scoring with a hat trick, Allen Dominquez added 2 goals, and Gavin Cano and Tyler Chapman rounded out the attack with a goal a piece.

Dundee-Crown 4, Huntley 0: The Chargers (5-1, 2-0) came out strong in the first half, scoring 3 goals and took the victory with a final goal in the second half and a shutout from the defense. Roland Dearborn finished with a goal and an assist for Dundee-Crown, and Nathan Becker saved 7 shots in goal. Ethan Kornas went the complete game in goal for Huntley (2-4-1, 0-1) and made 7 saves.

CL South 5, Auburn 0: Alex Canfield scored 3 goals for the Gators (5-1-2) and also added an assist in the win. Carson Hill and Dom Timberlake split time in goal for CL South, combining for 3 saves.

Schaumburg Christian 6, Westminster Christian 1: The Warriors struggled Thursday afternoon, but had a strong showing from goalkeeper Jackson Layne. Despite allowing 6 goals against a powerful Schaumburg Christian offense, Layne had 17 saves in goal. Cal Hoon scored the lone goal for Westminster Christian (1-4) off a pass from Nathan Siers.
