Boys soccer: Libertyville shuts out Cary-Grove
Jack Brennan, Luke Underwood and Cole Landmeier scored second-half goals, and Libertyville shut out host Cary-Grove 3-0 in nonconference boys soccer action Tuesday.
Mickey Reilly, Conner Hays and Cam Edmunds had assists for the Wildcats.
Warren 3, Lakes 2: Luke Schoenbrunn's goal in the 75th minute snapped a 2-2 tie, propelling the visiting Blue Devils to the nonconference win.
Max Floriani and Nolan Ehlers (penalty kick) also scored for Warren, which improved to 7-9.
"Boys did a nice job of finding a way to secure the 'W' today," Blue Devils coach Jason Ahonen said. "Maybe our legs are a little bit heavy from last night's game. Hats off to Lakes for extremely good defensive shape and staying behind the ball. They also did a fantastic job of countering finishing their chances."
Lakes (1-3) got goals from Cyrus Daruwala, assisted by Patrick Mayer, and Evan Larsen, assisted by Eliam Meir. Eagles keeper Camden Steinert made 10 saves.
"A well-played game that seesawed back and forth with both teams playing some excellent soccer," Lakes coach Kevin Kullby said. "Proud of my team for going toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the area."
Round Lake 4, Stevenson 3: Juan Gomez had a goal and an assist for the Panthers in their nonconference win.
Chuy Ramos, Uriel Sanchez and Maqiis Haywood also scored for Round Lake.
