Wolves drop shootout to Rockford

ROCKFORD - Former Chicago Wolves forward Jordan Schroeder scored in the third round of the shootout to give the Rockford IceHogs a 2-1 win over the Wolves on Wednesday night in Illinois Lottery Cup action.

Center Gage Quinney scored short-handed late in the second period for the Wolves (37-19-5-3), who increased their Central Division lead over Grand Rapids to 2 points.

Wolves goaltender Oscar Dansk (20-9-4) stopped 28 shots during regulation and overtime along with two of three in the shootout. Rockford's Collin Delia (10-6-4) rejected 32 shots in regulation and overtime as well as all three in the shootout.

The IceHogs (31-24-4-6) maintained a 1-point lead over the Texas Stars for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central Division.
