St. Charles East, Cary-Grove notch wins

St. Charles East scored a goal in each half of a 2-0 nonconference win over Naperville North on Monday.

Elle McCaslin scored the first goal for the Saints (2-1) on Hannah Miller's assist. McCaslin also scored the second goal on Kayla Villa's assist.

Megan Gelante made 2 saves.

Cary-Grove 5, Huntley 1: The Trojans broke open a 2-1 halftime score with three unanswered goals in the second half for the Fox Valley Conference win. Jenna Stayart scored the first three goals for Cary-Grove assisted by Kenedi Jones, Jordan Dale and Maggie Mason.

Ives scored the fourth goal on an assist from Jones, and Avery Nielsen tallied the final one on Stayart's assist. Cary-Grove improves to 1-0-1 and 1-0 in conference.

Madissen Gough scored Huntley's only goal on an assist from Alyssa Xanos. Ashley Lovins made 6 saves and Jenna Franklin 2 for the Red Raiders (0-1-1, 0-1).
