Kaneland alum Allison Heinzer's stock continues to rise as a member of the Lewis University women's track and field team.

At the recent Mike Lints Invitational hosted by Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan, Heinzer, a junior, picked up a pair of event wins in the 200 and 400. She ran 24.50 in the 200 and her winning time of 54.89 in the 400 is the third-fastest time in NCAA Division II this season.

Back in December, Heinzer was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference women's indoor track athlete of the week.

It was the fourth indoor conference player of the week award for Heinzer and the first this season. At the time, she was the last Flyer to earn the award since winning it back-to-back weeks in February 2018.

Heinzer opened the indoor season at the GVSU Holiday Open by winning the 200 with a time of 24.37 and placing third in the 400 with a time of 55.91. She earned provisional qualifying marks in both events for the NCAA Division II indoor track and field championships.

Heinzer is coming off a sophomore season where she was named an indoor all-American in the 200 and 400 and an outdoor all-American in the 400. Heinzer set the school record in the outdoor 400 and the indoor 200.

As a freshman, she was named a second-team all-American in the 400 relay at the NCAA outdoor championships and was named a USTFCCCA all-region indoor and outdoor recipient, as well as being named the Great Lakes Valley Conference freshman of the year in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Heinzer is a special and elementary education major at Lewis.
