Fremd runs MSL West record to 9-0
Fremd's girls basketball team came to within one win of a perfect Mid-Suburban League West finish with a 45-33 win at Schaumburg on Tuesday night.
The Vikings (23-4, 9-0) were led by Emily Klaczek (13 points), Ella Burns (11 points, three 3-pointers) and Olivia Hill (8 points).
Alyssa Orozco scored 11 points for Schaumburg (11-13, 4-5) and Ariana Doroskin added 8.
Barrington 50, Conant (40): Host Barrington (10-15, 6-4) was led by Taylor Thompson (24 points, 14 rebounds) and Sydney Granby (11 points, 7 rebounds) in the MSL West.
"Shanna Turczynski had a real nice game and Michaela Goetz had a great game defensively off the bench for us," said Barrington coach Babbi Barreiro.
Conant (9-14, 4-5) was led by Stephanie Mazurek (16 points).
Hoffman Estates 49, Palatine 39: Raven Wilson (11 points), Berry Chukwuyem (10) and Kate Mongold (9) led host Hoffman Estates (10-17, 3-6) in the MSL West.
Palatine (6-19, 0-9) was paced by Olivia Radtke (17 points) and Kayla Miotk (14).
Maine West 89, Lake Forest Academy (46): Rachel Kent (18 points, 5 assists), Dylan Van Fleet (17 points, 5 assists), Angela Dugalic (14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals) and Ellie Centella (two 3-pointers and 8 points off bench) led the visiting Warriors (25-0) in the nonconference contest.
