Huntley, Burlington Central split at DeKalb tourney

Both Huntley and Burlington Central split two games Monday at DeKalb's MLK Tournament.

Originally scheduled to be a two-day tournament, the Saturday games were canceled because of snow. Revised brackets were made, and Burlington Central (16-7) lost 45-44 to Lincoln-Way East and beat Neuqua Valley, 55-34, on Monday.

Elana Wells scored 9 of her 20 points in the first quarter against Neuqua Valley. Avery Andersen made four 3-pointers and totaled 12 points and Alexandra Lichner had 8 points.

Huntley lost 41-34 to Hinsdale South. Kamsi Nwogu scored 19 points and Briana Bower had 7.

In a 70-56 victory over Plainfield East, Nwogu poured in 31 points. Melissa Moffett scored 17 points and Anna Seng had 9.

St. Charles North 64, Jacobs 28: Annie Tate paced the North Stars with 19 points and Claire Jakaitis and Emma Ludwig both had 12 points in the nonconference victory.
