NIU to play at Michigan in 2021

DeKALB -- The Northern Illinois University football team will take on the Michigan Wolverines Sept. 18, 2021 in Michigan Stadium, the schools announced Friday.

In their only other game, Michigan defeated NIU 33-17 in Ann Arbor in the 2005 season opener.

NIU is 4-2 against teams from the Big Ten Conference the last six seasons. All-time, the Huskies are 8-37-1 against Big 10 teams.

The Huskies, who claimed the program's fifth Mid-American Conference Championship in 2018, will play at Vanderbilt, Utah and Nebraska in 2019.
