Boys golf: St. Edward, St. Charles East both win by a goal
Playing in sun, rain, high winds, then a rain delay, St. Edward (15-1-1) never got into its rhythm, but was able to come away with a 2-1 MSC win over Chicago Christian to move to 3-0 in conference play.
Josh Johansen's brace was enough to pace St. Edward, who had a number of chances but couldn't find the back of the net. Evan Sajtar held onto the win, allowing only one goal and saving 2 shots before the game was called at 70 minutes for darkness.
St. Charles East 1, Batavia 0: Luke Schnitker scored the lone goal in the game, assisted by Alex Mancera, to give St. Charles East (8-3, 3-1) the win. Zachary Doerr shut out Batavia (2-6-4, 1-2-2) and tallied 2 saves in goal. Jacob Mefford saved 16 shots in goal for Batavia.
