Stevenson 1, Deerfield 0: A first-half goal by Hunter Tam assisted by Camron Mahdavian held up, as the Patriots captured the nonconference decision.

Zack Klaber made 3 saves to earn the shutout for Stevenson (6-2-1).

"We played great defense again," Patriots coach Mark Schartner said. "We can't finish our chances. Deerfield plays a good style."

Wauconda 5, Johnsburg 1: Chase Hayden scored twice for the Bulldogs in the nonconference match.

Conner Brannick, Josh Kurtzer and Austin Fink also scored, and Ethan Yost, Ulysses Ruiz, David Ramirez and Jorge Morales contributed assists.

Wauconda improved to 4-2-1.

Lake Zurich 3, Cary-Grove 0: The Bears picked up the nonconference win, as Aiman Naqvi, Jaden McCreary and Barrett Hindman scored.

Naqvi and Austin Myhre had assists, and keeper Robert Mepham made 4 saves in earning the shutout, as Lake Zurich hiked its record to 7-2-2.

Grayslake Central 1, Hersey 1: Jack Kulis' first-half penalty kick accounted for the host Rams' lone tally in the nonconference match.

Garcia Perez had 6 saves in net for Grayslake Central (1-9-2).

"With better finishing from both sides this one could've been 5-5 at the end, but I'm very proud of our boys for coming out and playing some great soccer against a top-level opponent after an exhausting week," Rams coach Tom Hamilton said. "We took some time to come together but the past couple games we've taken our intensity to a new level. We've improved so much since the start of the season, and I think the best is yet to come. We have two big conference matchups this week, so this should give us some confidence going into a crucial week."

Warren 1, Evanston 1: Clayton Mobile scored the lone goal for Warren (4-3-2).

Zion-Benton 4, Cristo Rey St. Martin 0: Nikola Josifovic scored 3 goals for the Zee-Bees, and Miguel Solis had a goal as well.

Z-B keepers Roberto Colin and Jacob Yonke combined for the shutout.

Carmel 0, Marist 0: The draw gave Carmel a record of 4-2-1 and 1-0-1 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.

Mundelein 4, Grayslake North 0: The Mustangs improved to 6-2 with the nonconference win.

Grayslake North fell to 4-4.
