Boys soccer: Libertyville shuts down Buffalo Grove

Evan Rasmussen scored twice, as Libertyville's boys soccer team blanked Buffalo Grove 4-0 on Thursday to advance to the championship game of the Northside College Showcase tournament.

Libertyville (3-0) will play at 3 p.m. Saturday at New Trier.

Jack VanDixhorn and Patrick Graham also scored for the Wildcats, and keeper Hunter Lynch made 3 saves to earn the shutout.

Warren 5, Indian Trail 0: At Indian Trail in Wisconsin, as part of the Border Pride tournament, Ishaan Shah had 2 goals for the Blue Devils.

Alex Senko, Josh Segura and Nelvi Barrera also scored, and Nolan Ehlers had 2 assists. Keeper Chris Uribe (1 save) notched the save, as Warren improved to 3-0.

"From the moment we got on the bus, the boys were locked in," Blue Devils coach Jason Ahonen said. "We found our rhythm early, which allowed us to control the tempo of the game and create a numerous scoring opportunities. Each game we continue to grow as individuals and as a team."

Grayslake North 4, Carmel 0: Logan Holevas, Omar Cordova, Will Meyer and Eduardo Fonseca scored in the second half, as the Knights won a game that was scoreless at halftime.

Holevas and Omar Cordova had assists for Grayslake North (2-1).

"Everything changed after halftime," Knights coach Adam DeCaluwe said. "We really started to work together as a unit and played with more purpose and desire on and off the ball."

Stevenson 3, Rolling Meadows 1: At Glenbrook South, Hunter Tan scored twice for the Patriots.

Alem Duratovic added a goal and an assist for Stevenson (3-1). Jaeman Soe and Cam Mahdavian also had assists for the Patriots, who finished second in their bracket behind Glenbrook South and will play Wheeling at 9 a.m. Saturday for third place.
