Boys soccer: Streamwood, South Elgin notch wins

Streamwood picked up a 2-1 win over Marmion on Tuesday. Jorge Bracamontes and Rolando Martinez scored for Streamwood, with Alex Chavez assisting on both goals.

Alan Alfaro had 3 saves in goal for the Sabres.

St. Edward 7, Montini 1: In a battle of old SCC foes, the Wave traveled to Montini where they waited out a pregame rain delay before finally kicking off.

The Wave's high pressure led to 3 first-half goals and a 5-0 lead before Montini got one back. Two more Wave tallies finished the scoring and gave St. Edward its 3rd win of the season.

Josh Johansen, Carlos Ibarra and Uriel Carachure each had a goal and an assist to lead the Green Wave, while Chase Brieger added a goal and Tyler Brieger added an assist. Evan Sajtar saved 4 shots on goal for St. Edward.

The Green Wave move to 3-0 overall.
