Baseball: Glenbard East, Neuqua Valley win

Glenbard East 4, York 3:

Trailing 3-2 after six innings, the Rams (24-12) scored twice in the top of the seventh and claimed the Class 4A Elk Grove regional championship. Jack Oberli and Bret Bushka each doubled in runs in the rally. Jack Crackel homered for the Rams and earned the save. Jared Rech got the win in relief. Ian Steinorth and Mike Pastuovic had 2 hits for York (21-12). Glenbard East faces Willowbrook in Thursday's Bartlett sectional semifinals.

Neuqua Valley 2, Yorkville 1:

Ryan Wheeler's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Wildcats (30-3) a walkoff win in the Class 4A Yorkville regional title game. Evan Ranneklev tied it in the sixth with a run-scoring single. James Kulak pitched a 3-hitter with 8 strikeouts and a walk. Neuqua Valley plays Plainfield Central in Wednesday's Hinsdale South sectional semifinals.

Plainfield East 8, Benet 3:

The Redwings (17-14) fell in the Class 4A Hinsdale Central regional final. Jack Schneider went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Brandon Gorz had 2 hits and an RBI.

Plainfield Central 9, Naperville Central 1:

Plainfield Central took control with 5 second-inning runs in the Class 4A Naperville Central regional title game. Michael Oliver went 2-for-3 for the Redhawks (17-16). Connor Graefen singled in Patrick Boyer for the Redhawks' lone run in the fifth inning.

Plainfield North 4, Downers South 3:

A run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Plainfield North the walkoff victory in the Class 4A Plainfield North regional final. Downers South (22-10), which took a 3-2 lead to the seventh, received 2-hit games from Brett Riegler, Keegan Garland and Jake Pileggi.
