Softball: Streamwood, Huntley earn wins

Tessa Freedman had 4 hits with 2 doubles and 4 RBI Friday to lead the Streamwood softball team to a 10-3 Upstate Eight River win over Larkin.

Laura Dietrich added 2 hits with a double for the Sabres (8-18) and Becky Roncone had 2 hits with a double and 2 RBI.

Ariana Wolford was the winning pitcher, allowing 7 hits with 9 strikeouts and 3 walks.

Liz Bowman had 2 hits for Larkin.

Huntley 16, Hampshire 3: Fox Valley Conference champion Huntley closed out its FVC season as Autumn Kasal (2 hits, 2B, 3 RBI), Grace Kutz (2 hits, 3 RBI), Taylor Pacana and Paige Berkmeyer (2 RBI) each hit home runs. Tiffany Giese added 3 hits with a double for the Red Raiders (27-5, 15-1) and Teagan O'Rilley had 2 hits and an RBI. Giese was the winning pitcher, allowing 4 hits with 2 strikeouts and 2 walks. Katie Del Re and Delaney Rummell each hit home runs for Hampshire (14-12) and Sarah Bowen had a double.
