Toyota Park to become SeatGeek Stadium after 2018 Fire season
The Village of Bridgeview announced Thursday it will change the name of Toyota Park to SeatGeek Stadium at the conclusion of the 2018 Chicago Fire season.
The southwest suburban stadium, which seats 20,000 for soccer, has been called Toyota Park since it opened in 2006. That name lasted three years after the lease expired while the team and then the village tried to secure a new sponsor.
No details on the naming rights deal were announced.
In addition to the Chicago Fire, the stadium is home to the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women's Soccer League. It also hosts concerts and international soccer games, and the village will work with SeatGeek to bring more events to the stadium.
The village also is building around the stadium, with a retail center that includes restaurants as well as a Hampton Inn hotel under construction in the parking lot along Harlem Avenue.
