Baseball: Huntley tops Rockford East

Jason Peters went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI Friday as the Huntley baseball team outlasted Rockford East 11-6 in a nonconference game.

Evan Tocmo (3B), AJ Henkle (2 hits) and Matt Rodriguez (2B) also contributed to the offense for the Red Raiders (3-1).

Eli Paplanus was the winning pitcher.

DeKalb 7, Hampshire 5: Zachary Golden (2 hits, RBI), Trevor Laffin (3 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Kevin Michaelsen (2 hits), Nicholas Tenny (2 hits) and Matthew Jachec (2B, RBI) led Hampshire (3-1) in this nonconference loss.

CL South 10, Conant 0: Kyle Lang and Mark Paul combined on a 1-hitter as Crystal Lake South won easily in this nonconference game. Lang went 5 innings, allowing 1 hit with 7 strikeouts and no walks while Paul struck out all three batters he faced in his one inning of work. Leading the offense for the Gators (2-1-1) were Kyle Hetherington (2 hits, 2B, RBI), Noah Tyrell (2 hits), Blake Kuffel (2 hits, 2 RBI) and Riley Tannhauser (2 RBI).

South Elgin 7, Rolling Meadows 7: Patrick Keaty (2 hits, 2 RBI), Austin Doty (2 RBI) and Nick Poblocki (2B) led South Elgin (0-1-1) in this nonconference tie.
