Hersey High School is announcing Michael Rusniak as the school's next boys and girls soccer head coach, starting in the the fall of 2018.

Hersey has had a fantastic run in both boys and girls soccer recently under coach Darren Llewellyn. Consistently the boys and girls programs are extremely hard to beat, making strong showings in the MSL as well as deep runs in the state playoffs.

"Darren's leadership, development of athlete's character and tactical ability has made Hersey soccer a program to be proud of," Hersey athletic director Steve Messer said in a statement.

Llewellyn is retiring as a teacher in Dist. 214 after this school year.

Rusniak has been as assistant under Llewellyn for nine years in the boys program and for five years in the girls program. He played four years of collegiate soccer at St. Norbert's before joining the district in 2008.
