Hersey's boys water polo team had a high-octane season debut in producing a 23-15 win at Fremd on Wednesday in a Mid-Suburban League divisional crossover.
Jack Casey and Nick Koutris led the way with 5 goals apiece for the Huskies in coach Marc Popovici's debut, and Misha Nikiforov had 4 scores.
The Vikings got a game-best 8 goals from senior Derek Warnstedt.
Palatine 18, Rolling Meadows 5: Senior Sean O'Brien led Palatine with 6 goals, 4 assists and 5 steals, while Mohammad Shahin (3), Mike Ingebritson (3), Jerome Gabriel (2) and Sam Adame (2) were also multiple scorers for the Pirates.
Teammates Glenn Ingebritson and Jake Klein each chipped in a goal while Nathan Allen had 3 blocks and Connor Wheatley (2).
