Grayslake North shuts out Crystal Lake Central 3-0

Grayslake North's boys soccer team keeps rolling along.

The Knights shut out Crystal Lake Central 3-0, as goalkeeper Nolan Peek recorded his seventh shutout and the team's eighth.

Julio Zamora's sixth goal of the season and third in his last two games, off an assist from Freddy Rosas, gave Grayslake North (9-4) a l-0 lead in the first half. The Knights added insurance tallies in the second half on Brian Stout's penalty kick and Josh Larson's volley shot off a Zamora assist.

Coach Adam DeCaluwe also credited "standout performances" to Larson, Jorge Gomez, Patrick O'Gorman, Stout and James Gianneschi, who drew the PK. Peek made 5 saves in net.

"Tonight we continued on in our progression toward the type of soccer that we know we can play," said DeCaluwe, whose team vists Lakes on Saturday for an 11 a.m. match. "The score and possession reflected this, particularly in the second half."

Lake Zurich 1, Libertyville 1: Tim Kreutz scored for Lake Zurich, while Kyle Gustafson had Libertyville's goal in the North Suburban Lake Division game.

Taao Scarnato made 5 saves in net for Lake Zurich (9-1-3, 2-0-1).

Keeper Andrew Bitta was injured in the match for Libertyville (5-2-2).

Warren 4, Stevenson 0: Oskar Gasecki scored twice for the Blue Devils, who handed the Patriots their first loss.

Jarrett Jespersen and Andrew Arizmendi also scored for Warren (4-6-4), and Brady Walsh made 11 saves for the shutout.

Stevenson fell to 8-1-3, 1-1-1.

Mundelein 3, Lake Forest 0: The Mustangs received goals from Nick Neubauer, Nester Montiel and Jesus Olmos.

Javier Ramirez stopped 6 shots to notch the shutout for Mundelein (6-6-2, 2-2 North Suburban Lake).
