Sky signs Moore to training camp deal

Friday was a day of entrances and exits for the Chicago Sky.

Sky head coach and general manager Steven Key announced the team signed a rookie guard to a training camp deal, and then announced that a player and a coach would not be returning this season.

Carrie Moore, a 5-foot-9 guard who played in Poland for AZS Gorzow, was given a training camp contract, Key announced today.

Key also announced that forward Liz Moeggenberg has elected not to play in the 2008 season and that Roger Reding will not return as assistant coach.

For AZS, Moore averaged 10.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. A a 2007 graduate of Western Michigan University, Moore averaged 25.4 points per game, scoring 30 or more in 11 games.

Moeggenberg played in 23 games last season and averaged 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per game, and is currently playing overseas in France.

The Sky did not renew assistant coach Roger Reding's contract for the 2008 season. Reding joined the Sky in February 2006, and was previously the assistant women's basketball coach at Texas Tech University for 16 years.
