Chiropractor accused of wrongful sexual contact
GRANITE CITY -- A southwestern Illinois chiropractor is free on bond after being accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with two patients.
Prosecutors in Madison County charged 56-year-old James Phillips of O'Fallon, Mo., with two counts of misdemeanor battery.
Phillips was arrested Thursday at his office near Granite City.
Authorities allege the misconduct happened with a 33-year-old woman in March and a 22-year-old woman in September. Additional details weren't released.
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation says Phillips' chiropractic physician license was issued in 2009, expires in mid-2014 and remains “active” and that Phillips has never been disciplined.
Phillips couldn't be reached for comment. His home telephone has been disconnected, and he hasn't returned a message left at his office Friday. Court records don't indicate if he has an attorney.
