Elgin police make arson arrest after dumpster fire
Elgin police arrested a suspect after an arson investigation Thursday.
David Rosales, 27, of Chicago, is charged with arson, criminal damage to government-supported property and criminal damage to property.
Officers responded to reports of a dumpster fire near the 0-100 block of Douglas Avenue early Thursday. A nearby transformer was damaged by the fire.
According to Elgin police, additional garbage cans were set on fire near Chicago Street and Riverside Drive; Chicago Street and Grove Avenue; the 100 block of West Chicago Street; Symphony Way and Spring Street; and Spring Street and Division Street.
Rosales is slated for a detention hearing Friday.
