Lake Zurich police seek public input as part of accreditation process

The Lake Zurich Police Department is scheduled for a site-based assessment this week as part of a program to achieve accreditation, and as part of the process, community members are invited to share their thoughts on the agency.

Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures; administration; operations; and support services.

Citizens can offer comments, commendations or other information regarding the department's quality of service through CALEA's online portal at https://cimrs2.calea.org/218. Comments must address the department's ability to comply with CALEA's standards.

Comments may also be sent to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320, Gainesville, VA, 20155, or emailed to calea@calea.org.
