Santa to stop by Carpentersville's Winterville in the Park

The village of Carpentersville is hosting Winterville in the Park on Saturday at Triangle Park, off West Main and South Washington streets.

It will begin with a tree-lighting ceremony at 4:30 p.m., followed by visits with Santa. Hot cocoa, coffee and sweet treats will be served while supplies last. At 5:30 p.m., visitors can join in singing Christmas carols, then watch the Riverside Parade of Lights as it travels from West Dundee, north to Carpentersville, then back south to East Dundee.

The second annual parade is expected to start at 6:30 p.m. on South Lincoln Avenue, just south of North Sixth Street, in West Dundee. It will travel north on Lincoln and cross the Main Street Bridge in Carpentersville about 6:45 p.m. and then head south on Washington/Water Street to East Dundee, ending at Railroad Street about 7 p.m.
