Gurnee to host Holiday Lights event on Dec. 7

The village of Gurnee will host the third annual Holiday Lights event at Welton Plaza from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7.

The event will feature fire pits, s'mores and food trucks. There will be craft stations for children and other fun things, including a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Village staff also will collect nonperishable food for the Warren Township Food Pantry during the event.

Welton Plaza is at 4580 Old Grand Ave., where the village hall once stood, and is named after the community's longest-serving mayor, Richard A. Welton.
