Thief made $26,000 in fraudulent purchases, police say

A thief used a stolen credit card belonging to a Des Plaines business to make about $26,000 in purchases, police said this week.

The card was inside a car that was stolen in June in Chicago, police said in a news release. The fraudulent purchases were made between June 5 and Nov. 1.

The card is associated with a business on the 2700 block of South Des Plaines River Road, police said.

No other details were available.
