Armo Grill coming to Wheeling's Restaurant Row in December

A new eatery soon will join Wheeling's famed Restaurant Row.

Offering Mediterranean and Armenian cuisine, Armo Grill should open next month at 516 N. Milwaukee Ave. It'll serve lunch and dinner and have a fast-casual vibe, Village Manager Jon Sfondilis said.

"The village of Wheeling is excited to add a new flavor to the palate of Restaurant Row with the addition of Armo Grill," Sfondilis said.

Owner Levon Kirakosyan is an Armenian immigrant who's lived in the U.S. for 11 years, according to the restaurant's website. The online menu touts a variety of kebabs, vegetarian entrees, rice dishes, salads, hummus and more.

Armo Grill will be on the north side of Restaurant Row, the dining-and-retail-heavy stretch of Milwaukee Avenue between Lake-Cook and Hintz roads. Nearby restaurants include Boston Fish Market, Spears Bourbon Burgers Beer and Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant.

Armo Grill's building has had several users over the last decade, Sfondilis said. It's stood empty since 2021.

The village board briefly discussed the plans for Armo Grill during Monday night's liquor control commission meeting at village hall. The board subsequently agreed to create a liquor license for the business, without discussion or objection.
