Wheeling man identified as driver killed in Buffalo Grove crash

Authorities on Tuesday identified a 42-year-old Wheeling man as the driver killed Sunday when a vehicle crashed into a nitrogen tank cage at a Buffalo Grove business.

Fernando Montesinos-Rojas died from blunt force injuries, according to preliminary autopsy results released by the Lake County coroner's office. Final autopsy results are pending toxicology testing, including carbon monoxide testing, officials said.

Buffalo Grove authorities said the crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Vapor Bus International, 1010 Johnson Drive. Montesinos-Rojas, who was the only occupant of the vehicle involved, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Buffalo Grove police and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating.
