Armed robbery, crash lead to manhunt in Western suburbs

Police from several West suburban departments searched for a robbery suspect Wednesday in the Lombard area.

Lombard police told ABC 7 Chicago that people who committed an armed robbery in Bensenville crashed their gray minivan on eastbound St. Charles Road near Westmore-Meyers Road.

One person was arrested shortly after 6 p.m., ABC 7 reported

Another suspect was still at large late Wednesday night. Authorities described him as a Black man with dreadlocks who was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants, according to a village Facebook post.

The crash occurred near the Metra tracks, causing delays on the Union Pacific West Line.

Police searched through residents' garages and around backyard pools.

"They went over and checked the backyard area. They came in through the building making sure nobody was in there who wasn't supposed to be," Deonna Christensen-Campos, who works nearby, told ABC 7.

Anyone with information about the case should call 911,
