3 teens charged with shooting, killing man in Aurora
Three boys have been charged with first-degree murder, accused of killing a man in Aurora.
A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, both of Aurora, and a 15-year-old boy from Montgomery are each charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery for the death of Edwin Varela-Santos.
The 16-year-old also is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon -- no firearm owner's identification.
On Aug. 20, Aurora police responded to the 1300 block of North Glen Circle. They found Varela-Santos, 19, in a crashed vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds.
The boys were arrested Aug. 24, according to a news release from the police department.
The police department did not name the boys because they are juveniles.
Varela-Santos graduated from East Aurora High School, according to his obituary. He is survived by his parents and three brothers.
