Protect an egg, win a prize in Des Plaines

The Des Plaines Public Library will host an all-ages egg drop contest July 15.

Contestants will design and build contraptions to keep chicken eggs intact when dropped by a staff member.

Trophies and prizes will be awarded.

The event will run from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library, 1501 Ellinwood Ave.
