Round Lake Beach changing waste collector beginning July 1

Round Lake Beach will switch its residential waste collection services from Waste Management to Groot effective July 1.

Groot will provide weekly curbside service, with residents receiving a 95-, 65-, or 35-gallon wheeled cart, as well as recycling and yard waste collection.

According to the village, Groot's standard service was 25% to 40%, lower than the two other proposals made for the village contract. Groot's per-household monthly cost for residents, including recycling cart, will be $19.99 for a 95-gallon cart, $18.99 for a 65-gallon cart and $17.99 for a 35-gallon cart.

Groot plans to deliver carts and informational brochures starting the week of June 12, according to the village.

The village will be updating its website with more information regarding the transition to Groot over the next few weeks at https://tinyurl.com/3636k.
