Police: Two adults entered Waukegan middle school, battered student and two employees

Two adults attacked a teacher, staff member and student Tuesday morning at John Lewis Middle School in Waukegan, officials said.

The pair went to the school to confront a student who had been involved in a fight with a family member and fled in a blue Nissan before police arrived, officials said.

One of the two, Angel S. Terry, a 29-year-old Waukegan woman, was later taken into custody and charged with aggravated battery to a school employee and battery with bodily harm.

The other adult, a man, is not in custody, police said.

Officials did not provide a description of the man in a news release issued Tuesday afternoon.

Terry is accused of battering a student who had been in a previous confrontation with her niece, police said. The man battered a staff member and teacher who tried to stop him and Terry from entering the school, police said.

Terry is expected to appear before a Lake County judge Wednesday morning.
