New Naperville park could be named after Fairlane Farms

The Naperville Park District is considering naming a planned park after Fairlane Farms.

Two new parks are proposed for the Naperville Polo Club residential development, located on the north side of 119th Street just east of Route 59 in south Naperville.

At Thursday's park district meeting, board members approved a 60-day period of consideration before naming one of the parks Fairlane Farms Park. The park, on the eastern portion of the property, will feature multipurpose fields and parking lots.

The second park, centrally located within the new subdivision, would be called Polo Club Park.

Naperville resident Richard W. Kuhn and his family taught polo at Fairlane Farms, which was originally purchased by his grandparents in the 1930s. Many players at the Naperville Polo Club learned to ride and play polo at Fairlane Farms.
