Six miles of Route 120 in western Lake County to be resurfaced

Drivers can expect delays on Route 120 from Volo to Grayslake due to resurfacing work scheduled to last until sometime in August.

The Illinois Department of Transportation, weather permitting, was to begin the $2.5 million project Wednesday. The work extends nearly six miles from Route 60 to Allegheny Road through Round Lake, Round Lake Park and Hainesville.

The road will be resurfaced, new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps installed and deteriorated curbs replaced. Intermittent lane closures will be required. Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction.
