Gail Borden appoints member:
The Gail Borden Public Library Board has appointed Herb Gross to fill a vacancy on the board created when Jessica Thompson stepped down in June because she moved out of the district.
Gross, a retired psychologist, served as a library trustee from 2007-2009, when he lost a re-election bid.
"We are pleased to have Mr. Gross back on the board," said board President Rick McCarthy. "He has proven to be a valuable member of the board in the past. We thank others who applied for this opening and we encourage them to run for election next (spring)."
The Gail Borden Library is based in Elgin, and also serves parts of Hoffman Estates, Bartlett and Hanover Park.
