Naperville police seek help to ID man who approached middle school girls

Naperville police are investigating a report of a suspicious incident after a man approached two middle school girls Tuesday afternoon.

The girls were walking near School and Ellsworth streets around 4 p.m. when they were approached, police said. The man walked with them and asked a series of personal questions. He also offered to take one of the girls to a location she liked to hang out.

After the girls refused to share information with him, the man then walked west toward Washington Street.

Naperville police Cmdr. Michaus Williams said police have contacted officials at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Ellsworth Elementary and Washington Junior High schools about the case.

Williams encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity, particularly during after-school hours in the area where the girls were walking.

According to police, the man is described as white, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build and brown hair. He was wearing a dark T-shirt and jeans when he approached the girls.

Anyone with information should call the Naperville Police Department at (630) 420-6666 and ask for the investigations division.
