Candidate objection deadline in Lake County extended

The deadline to file objections to candidate filings for local school boards and the regional board of schools trustee positions has been extended to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28.

The extension is due to the holiday schedule, as the Lake County Clerk's office is closed Friday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 26.

State law requires the objection period to be open for five business days after the candidate filing period closes, which this year was Monday, Dec. 19.
