St. Charles house fire causes $100,000 in damage, leaves home uninhabitable

No injuries were reported from a house fire in St. Charles Thursday evening that caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.

Firefighters were called to the home on the 3400 block of Greenwood Lane just after 7:40 p.m.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire that reportedly began on the second floor of the single-family home.

The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
