Naperville police, fire departments hosting public safety open house

The Naperville police and fire departments are hosting an all-ages open house in recognition of Public Safety Month.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the city's Public Safety Campus, 1380 Aurora Ave. Demonstrations will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The purpose of the open house is to inform the public about fire and crime prevention and develop prevention strategies. There will be a display of police and fire vehicles and equipment in addition to appearances by Sparky and McGruff.
