Rainy weather delays, but doesn't stop Festival Polonaise at Arlington Park

Festival Polonaise, a three-day Polish cultural festival featuring music, food and drinks, carnival rides and local vendors in the west parking lot at Arlington Park, continued Saturday despite a two-hour afternoon rain delay.

Music performances by two headliners from Poland as well as a local band are featured each night, said co-organizer Jakub Skora. He said the decision was made to postpone Saturday's start due to the threat of thunderstorms at the original 3 p.m. start time, but expected people to arrive once the weather cleared.

"We had a ton of people last night. It was awesome," Skora said.

Admission is $45, which helps cover the cost of bringing in the music groups from Poland, Skora said.
