Naperville holding public meeting for 248th Avenue improvement plan

A public meeting will be held to discuss the noise report recently certified by the Illinois Department of Transportation for the 248th Avenue improvement project in Naperville.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Aug. 18 in the Naperville Municipal Center, located at 400 S. Eagle St. The project will affect 248th Avenue between 95th and 103rd streets.

The noise wall analysis, completed by the city's consultant, shows the locations that qualify for noise walls. In September, homeowners who live along 248th Avenue and whose properties qualify for a noise wall will be able to vote in favor of or against constructing a noise wall in their area.

Construction on 248th Avenue, which should last about a year, is scheduled to begin in 2026.

Information about the project can be found at naperville.il.us/248th-avenue/.
