Naperville organizations join together to send medical donations to Ukraine

Several Naperville organizations have joined together in an effort to deliver medical equipment and supplies to military field hospitals in Ukraine.

The Naperville Sister Cities Commission, Marquette Companies, Edward-Elmhurst Health, the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and KidsMatter had been helping Ukrainian refugees in one of Naperville's sister cities, Nitra, Slovakia, but the focus has shifted to aiding military field hospitals in Kyiv, Ukraine.

"As this ongoing humanitarian crisis evolves, we know one thing will remain in the coming days and week - Ukrainians need our assistance," Patty Gustin, a Naperville councilwoman and representative to the Sisters Cities Commission, said in a statement.

All donations raised will be used to purchase urgently needed medical equipment and supplies, including defibrillators, ultrasound equipment, syringe infusion pumps, scalpels, sterilization kits, gowns, gloves and bandages.

Donations can be made with credit cards or debit cards at helpdisplacedukrainians.com.
